Saguaro Lake at Bucher Jones Recreation Area cleanup with odysea aquarium

We teamed up with our friends at OdySea Aquarium for a morning of stewardship and fun to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day and World Cleanup Day. Volunteers came out to Butcher Jones Recreation Area to help us remove trash from the recreation area and Saguaro Lake. Volunteers also helped us clean out all of the dirt and sand from the parking lot that was left behind after monsoon flooding to help get the area ready to open to the public. ⁠

113 volunteers, including 26 youth volunteers, helped us remove 818.6 pounds of trash, including a 174-pound tire! Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped us make a significant impact on Butcher Jones and Saguaro Lake! Thank you to everyone at OdySea Aquarium for teaming up with us again!⁠
