over 84,500 trees & cacti planted
November 2020, we launched our Replanting Program. This program is part of our Dedicated Restoration Team Services for natural areas across the state. We also host replanting events for community members.
In 2020 and 2021, we planted over 20,000 trees in the 2017 Cactus Fire burn scar working on the Lower Salt River Restoration Project with Program Managers from the EcoCulture team at NAU.
In May 2021, we started replanting cacti, including saguaros, in the 2020 Bush Fire burn scar at Lower Sycamore on to Tonto National Forest. We continued working on small replanting projects throughout the summer, fall, and winter.
In 2022, we placed a heavy focus on replanting in the Bush Fire Burn Scar at Four Peaks & Lower Sycamore. Our team collected cacti from construction sites and private properties around the Phoenix Valley, transported them to our replanting sites, and planted them in the burn scar.
In 2023, our Dedicated Restoration Team continued replanting the Bush Fire burn scar at Four Peaks and Lower Sycamore. We also hosted a Lower Salt River Tree Planting Event with Ecoculture & the 4th annual Save Our Saguaros Replanting Event at Four Peaks.
We were honored at the 2023 U.S. Forest Service Chief’s Honor Awards Ceremony for our work on the Four Peaks Restoration Project, along with the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest, National Forest Foundation and Arizona Wholesale Growers.
