National PUblic Lands Day Lower Salt River Cleanup
For National Public Lands Day, we hosted our annual National Public Lands Day Lower Salt River Cleanup at Phon D Sutton Recreation Area. 228 volunteers, including 56 youth volunteers, helped us remove 1,800 pounds of trash.
Established in 1994, National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort. It celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and general health.
This event was financed in part by a grant from REI Co-op, we are grateful to everyone at REI for their continued support of our mission and our Restoration Projects across Arizona.
Thank you to everyone at U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District for their support of this event!
