4th Annual
Green Friday Lower Salt River Cleanup
The day after Thanksgiving, we hosted our 4th annual Green Friday Lower Salt River Cleanup at Coon Bluff Recreation Area. 209 volunteers, including 55 youth volunteers, helped us remove 3,880 pounds of trash (1.94 tons).
Green Friday is our way of thinking differently about the day after Thanksgiving; it’s a chance to celebrate the connection between people and outdoor spaces in their community, inspire environmental stewardship, & encourage use of outdoor spaces for education, recreation, and general health.
This event was financed in part by a grant from REI Co-op, we are grateful to everyone at REI for their continued support of our mission and our Restoration Projects across Arizona.
In addition to REI, we would also like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event: Arizona Toy Pros, Battle Born Offroad, CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Davidson’s Inc., Desert Monsters Tours, Environmental Professionals of Arizona, Gallery of Guns, Icon Vehicle Dynamics, Illuminated Funds Group, LeBaron & Carroll Insurance, Nitro Gear & Axle, OdySea Aquarium, the ON Semiconductor Foundation, Parks Project, Salt River Project, State 48 Overland, Tru Flask, Unisource Energy Services, Victory 4x4, and Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative.
