We teamed up with our friends from AZ4Runner Outsiders for a Bush Fire Replanting at Lower Sycamore.
We planted 47 native desert saguaro, ocotillo, fishhook barrel, chain fruit cholla and beehives in the 2020 Bush Fire burn scar on the Tonto National Forest - Mesa Ranger District. The saguaros and barrels planted were some of the largest we've collected so they took most of our time to replant.

In celebration of Arizona Public Lands Day and to kick off Earth Month, we teamed up with our friends from Arizona Adventure Group to help the Tonto National Forest - Cave Creek District with a trash cleanup at Camp Creek Wash. Volunteers helped us remove 2,940 pounds of trash & debris, that’s 1.47 tons of trash removed!

We hosted our annual Lower Sycamore Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 9th, 2022. With the help of 42 volunteers, including 7 youth volunteers and our 5-member Dedicated Restoration Team, we removed 2.01 tons of trash and 13 tires from this OHV area. That’s 4,020 pounds of trash no longer littering our public lands!

Thanks again to all of the volunteers who joined us for our 7th annual Earth Day Cleanup at the Lower Salt River! 375 volunteers, including 21 youth volunteers, helped us remove 1,620 pounds of trash!
Volunteers started at Phon D Sutton Rec Area removing trash from the river, riverbanks, trails, picnic areas, & parking lots. Volunteers more familiar with the river headed upriver to pick up trash from Water Users, Pebble Beach, Blue Point, & Coon Bluff Rec Areas, & a group of volunteers went downriver to Granite Reef.

We are honored to be the first grantee of the Overland Expo Foundation. Through our Overland Expo Foundation grant, we completed two weeks of replanting projects at Four Peaks and Lower Sycamore and hosted a volunteer replanting event at Four Peaks. We collected and saved 672 cacti from destruction and replanted 656 cacti in the 2020 Bush Fire burn scar.
