20,242 square feet of graffiti & 1.83 tons of trash removed from the Florence Boulders OHV area
In early 2019, we received our second grant through the Arizona Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Fund administered by Arizona State Parks & Trails (learn more HERE). Included in our grant was our largest graffiti removal project to date at the Florence Boulders OHV Area on Arizona State Trust Land.
Our Dedicated Restoration Team removed 20,242 square feet of graffiti from the Florence Boulders OHV Area. Our hope is that by removing graffiti, fewer people will make the mistake of thinking it is okay to tag the rocks and boulders. We believe everyone should be able to experience nature without seeing graffiti or trash. It was extremely rewarding to talk to so many people from the OHV community and nearby residents who stopped by to thank us for our work. Many of them told us they have been recreating in the area with friends and family for years and they hated seeing the graffiti on the boulders. Our team also removed 1.83 tons of trash (3,660 pounds) from the area.
