1,700 pounds of trash & 380 square feet of graffiti removed

We are the proud recipient of Athletic Brewing Company’s Two for the Trails grant program!
Athletic Brewing Company’s love for the great outdoors is why they created their Two for the Trails program, where they donate up to $2 million annually to help protect, preserve, and maintain local trails.
With funds from Athletic Brewing Company, our military veteran-based Dedicated Restoration Team made a significant impact on the Tonto National Forest by removing 380 square feet of graffiti and 1,700 pounds of trash.
We removed 280 square feet of graffiti and 744 pounds of trash from Saguaro Lake, and 100 square feet of graffiti and 956 pounds of trash from the Lower Salt River. Our team also knocked invasive Apple Snail eggs into the water along the Lower Salt River.

Our hope is that by removing the graffiti, fewer people will make the mistake of thinking it is okay to tag the rocks and boulders. We believe everyone should be able to experience nature without graffiti.

On one of our days on the lower salt river, we teamed up with our friends from Salty Scuba Squad to float the river from goldfield to phon D sutton, picking up trash along the way while their divers pulled trash from the river bottom.
